Code of Conduct
Project Stellar is a student-run event built on the belief that great things happen when people feel safe, respected, and free to create. Everyone in attendance, including participants, mentors, judges, and organizers, is expected to uphold this Code of Conduct for the duration of the event.
Our Standards
We are committed to making Project Stellar a welcoming experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or level of experience.
Expected behaviour:
Treat every person at the event with respect and kindness
Be supportive of other teams. Healthy competition is encouraged; undermining others is not
Give credit where it is due, including to open-source tools, AI assistance, and teammates
Accept feedback from mentors and judges graciously
Take care of the space. Leave areas clean and respect school property
Follow all instructions from organizers promptly and without argument
Unacceptable behaviour:
Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind, whether verbal, physical, or online
Discriminatory jokes, language, or behaviour
Deliberately sabotaging another team's project or workspace
Submitting work that was built before the event window without disclosure
Misrepresenting AI-generated content as entirely original work
Theft or damage of any equipment, personal belongings, or school property
Any behaviour that makes another participant feel unsafe or unwelcome
AI & Academic Integrity
AI tools are welcome at Project Stellar. We encourage participants to explore what is possible. However, honesty is non-negotiable.
All AI tool usage must be disclosed in your Devpost submission
Your team must be able to explain and present your project confidently, as judges may ask technical questions
Submitting AI-generated work without disclosure will result in immediate disqualification
The Best One-Shot Prompt category celebrates AI use openly. Take advantage of it
Reporting & Enforcement
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to any Project Stellar organizer immediately. All reports will be handled discreetly and taken seriously.
Participants asked to stop any unacceptable behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Organizers reserve the right to remove any participant from the event, without prize eligibility, for violations of this Code of Conduct.
