Welcome to Project Stellar!
Requirements
All teams must submit their project on Devpost before the deadline on June 7, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted. Every team member must be added to the submission and registered as a Project Stellar participant.
Please include the following in your submission:
🏷️ Project Name & Tagline A short, punchy one-liner that describes what your project does.
📝 Project Description (200–500 words) Cover the following:
- What did you build?
- Why did you build it?
- How does it connect to the theme?
🎥 Demo Video (2–3 minutes) Record a live walkthrough of your project in action. Slideshows or mockup-only videos are not accepted. Upload to YouTube or Vimeo and paste the link into your submission.
💻 Source Code Link to a public GitHub repository containing all code written during the event. Your commit history must reflect work done within the June 6–7 event window.
👥 Team Members All team members must be added to the Devpost project before submission closes.
⭐ Optional (but recommended)- Screenshots — At least 2 images showing your project in action
- Tech Stack — A brief "How We Built It" section listing your languages, frameworks, and tools
- Challenges — A "What We Ran Into" section — judges appreciate transparency and it adds to your story
- What's Next — If you're going for Most Likely to Become a Startup, tell us where this project goes after Sunday
If your project is playable or usable, include a live link, itch.io page, or downloadable build so judges can experience it directly. This is strongly encouraged and will work in your favour during judging.

Judging Criteria
-
Best Overall Execution
The project that best captures "Shoot for the Stars" and wins the hearts of the judges. Technically solid, thematically strong, and the one everyone's still talking about at the closing ceremony. 3 Podium Spots. -
Technical Execution (10 pts)
Does the project actually work? Judges assess the quality of the build, how well the core functionality is implemented, and whether the team overcame meaningful technical challenges. Bonus consideration for complexity relative to the team's skill level. -
Creativity & Originality (10 pts)
How unique and imaginative is the concept? Does the project bring a fresh idea to the table, or does it take an existing concept in an unexpected direction? Judges reward bold thinking and original approaches. -
Theme Relevance (5 pts)
How well does the project connect to "Shoot for the Stars"? Judges look for how meaningfully and thoughtfully the team interpreted the theme, whether literally or abstractly. -
Presentation & Pitch (10 pts)
Can the team clearly explain what they built, why they built it, and how it works to a non-technical audience? Judges assess clarity, confidence, and storytelling. A polished demo counts here too. -
Impact & Potential (10 pts)
Does this project solve a real problem, inspire curiosity, or show a clear path to something bigger? Judges consider whether the idea has legs beyond the hackathon, whether it be socially, technically, or commercially. -
Best one shot prompt
The team that extracts the most impressive result from a single AI prompt. Judges reward prompt cleverness, output quality, and creativity in what they chose to build? -
Most Likely to Become a Startup
The project with the clearest path to a real business — a defined problem, a real audience, and a vision that extends beyond Sunday. Would you take a follow-up meeting with this team? -
Why Doesn't This Exist Already?
The project with the most surprising, insightful problem statement. The one that makes the crowd and judges think "I never knew I needed this".
